Employee spotlight: Anna Barton

For nearly 27 years, Anna Barton has been a familiar and trusted face around Farmington Presbyterian Manor. As medical records coordinator, Anna ensures that each resident’s medical information is always up to date and organized in a way that facilitates the best treatment possible.

When asked, Anna attributes her longevity with Farmington Presbyterian Manor to both the organization itself and her own commitment to its residents.

“I think the ways of Presbyterian Manor is what has made me so content for so long,” said Anna. “The residents and their needs are always first and foremost—whatever is needed to provide the best care we can is what we do.”

Anna also acknowledges that her individual responsibilities within the organization are a perfect match with her own strengths and skill sets.

“I have always been a detail oriented person, and the medical records position offers me all I could want of organizing, auditing and ensuring a record is complete,” said Anna.

Even during recent times of transition within the Medical Records Department, Anna has enjoyed her work and has always been able to take a step back and look at the big picture.

“It has been a little bit of a challenge as we converted to mostly electronic records but at the same time, the possibilities of what the system is capable of are endless. It has been exciting to watch the transition,” said Anna.

Anna also attributes both her success and her overall happiness in her job to those she works with on a day-to-day basis.

“There are tough situations or obstacles in any job, but it just always seems to work out fine when there is such a good group of people,” said Anna. “We all pull together and do what’s needed of us to get through.”

Away from work, Anna spends much of her time keeping up with her 14-year-old son and enjoys crafting—with a particular passion for engraving.

“I love that I can make something personalized for someone that they will never be able to buy anywhere,” said Anna.
