Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease

The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease makes planning for the future more important than ever. In the Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease program, you will have a chance to learn about important legal and financial issues to consider, how to put plans in place, and how to access legal and financial resources near you.

This program will cover information for families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Topics covered will include:

  • Legal documents you’ll need and what they mean for all of you
  • How to find legal and financial assistance
  • Practical strategies for making a long-term plan of care
  • Tax deductions and credits
  • Government programs that can help pay for care

When you click the registration link, you will be redirected to the Alzheimer’s Association website to complete the registration process. If this is your first time to RSVP for an Alzheimer’s Association event, the registration link on the Alzheimer’s site will prompt you to register with their site. Once you’ve completed this one-time site registration, you will be able to reserve your spot for this event, and future events, by logging in. Once your registration is processed, you will receive a unique link to the event with instructions for joining the webinar.

The event is one in a series of webinars exploring Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and some of the most important topics of concern to caregivers and those who are experiencing the disease.

From February to November, we’ll explore a different topic each month through virtual presentations led by the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri.

The series is part of Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask lifelong learning program, featuring topics and speakers of interest to seniors and their adult children. Future topics include understanding and responding to dementia-related behaviors, legal and financial implications, and how to have difficult conversations about driving, finances and more.
