Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s annual Chicken and Dumplings Dinner and Silent Auction benefits Presbyterian Manor residents who have outlived their resources. Held annually in March, the event is a chicken and dumpling dinner and silent auction. The 2016 event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. March 31.

Farmington Presbyterian Church, 403 W. Columbia, hosts the event. Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Presbyterian Church. Diners may choose to dine in or carry out a classic chicken-and-dumplings meal with a traditional side, roll, dessert and drink. There also will be a silent auction with fantastic donations to bid on. Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the door. Or, you may buy 10 or more tickets for $7 each.

The Good Samaritan Program depends solely on donations from friends and supporters. Each year, Farmington Presbyterian Manor has a fundraiser to support the local Good Samaritan Program. This totals more than $950,000 in unreimbursed care each year. Last year's dinner raised more than $16,000.

One in four residents in Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s assisted living and health care neighborhoods is supported in some way through the Good Samaritan Program. This equates to more than $4 million a year of unreimbursed care and services needing Good Samaritan support. Donations made to a specific community stay at that community.

Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America relies on charitable contributions to help bridge the gap for residents who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. Contributions to the Farmington Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Program help make it possible for residents to continue to live at Farmington Presbyterian Manor regardless of their ability to pay.
