Lifelong Learning

Exploration, discovery and lifelong learning are vital components to living well and play a key role in healthy aging. Studies show that people who stay stimulated intellectually throughout life are typically happier and healthier. Residents of Farmington Presbyterian Manor routinely participate in a variety of activities that keep them actively engaged in the community and the world.

  • Bell Chimes Group meets every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
  • Watercolor Painting Classes are offered twice a month every other month on a Tuesday at 10 a.m. featuring two-part programs of art instruction by local artist Jacque Pell.
  • Arts and crafts classes meet twice a month on Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Just Ask

In addition, we offer Just Ask educational sessions to the general public as well as our residents, presenting the latest information on topics of interest to older adults. Topics include senior fitness, how to recognize the warning signs of Alzheimer's disease and heart disease, financial planning and how to avoid scams.

Residents also have numerous opportunities to pursue their interests on their own.

  • Our community room sports a large flat-panel video screen for lectures and presentations.
  • Our satellite library from Farmington Regional Library is updated weekly, giving residents access to a wealth of fiction and non-fiction literature.
  • Our Internet-connected computer features a large keyboard and senior-friendly software to enable residents to easily navigate their way through websites of interest.
  • Farmington Presbyterian Manor maintains a sewing room and dedicated quilting area.
