    2.  Area seniors are exhibiting their creativity in the 2018 Art is Ageless® competition at Farmington Presbyterian Manor.

      To participate, artists must be 65 or older and works must be completed within the past five years to be eligible for the competition. Works are accepted in nine categories, including mixed media and crafts, painting, quilting, sculpture and more.

      Winners will be announced at a reception for the artists at 2 p.m. February 23. For more information about the Art is Ageless program, visit www.ArtIsAgeless.org.

    2. A financial strategy that includes a plan for extended care may help you realize your goals and minimize the impact a need for care may have on you and your loved ones. Come and learn about ways you can prepare for the future with long-term care funding options.

      Marshall Burstein, financial advisor, and Jamie Jones, financial services professional, both with New York Life Insurance Company, will lead this free educational session.

      "Long-Term Care Planning Options" is part of Farmington Presbyterian Manor's Just Ask lifelong learning series focusing on topics of interest to seniors and their adult children.

March 22: Chicken and Dumpling Dinner and Silent Auction

    2. Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s annual Chicken and Dumplings Dinner and Silent Auction will be Thursday, March 22, to benefit Presbyterian Manor residents who have outlived their financial resources.

       The event will be at Farmington Presbyterian Church, 403 W. Columbia. Meals are $8 each in advance or for carry-out, or $9 each at the door. 

      The Good Samaritan Program depends solely on donations from friends and supporters to care for seniors living at Presbyterian Manor who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. Each year, Farmington Presbyterian Manor has a fundraiser to support the local Good Samaritan Program. 

       “This event is truly a blessing to those in need, and so is everyone who participates,” said Executive Director Jane Hull. “The Farmington community provides tremendous support for this event and throughout the year. We look forward to a big crowd March 22.”
